What’s Covered

  • Accidental loss of or damage to your vehicle
    Cover includes theft, fire, flood and storm, including hail damage, subject to your policy’s terms and conditions, limits and excess.
  • New for old replacement of a new vehicle after a total loss
    If your new vehicle is stolen or written off, Allianz may replace it with one of the same make and model if the following conditions are met:

      • Your vehicle is less than two years old from its first registration at the time it’s declared a total loss.
      • You bought your new vehicle, or demonstrator model, from the manufacturer or their dealer.
      • Where relevant, your financier has given their written consent.
      • A new replacement vehicle of the same make and model is available in Australia.
  • Legal liability cover
    Covers your legal liability for loss or damage to other people’s property and for supplementary bodily injury – up to $20 million for any one event or series of related events.
  • Approved legal costs from a liability claim
    Covers legal costs, as approved by Allianz, from a claim that’s covered by your policy.
  • Emergency repair costs after a covered accident
    Allianz will reimburse the cost of necessary emergency repairs that enable you to drive your vehicle home after a covered accident – up to $500 for any one incident.
  • Rental car after theft of your vehicle
    If your vehicle has been stolen, Allianz will pay for a rental car – $100 per day, for up to 30 days.
  • Towing after a covered incident
    Allianz will pay the reasonable cost of protection, removal and towing of your vehicle after a covered accident to the nearest repairer, place of safety or any other place they agree to.
  • Temporary cover on a replacement vehicle
    Allianz will provide cover for your replacement vehicle for 14 days.
  • Trailer and caravan cover
    Allianz will pay up to $1,000, or the market value of your trailer or caravan, whichever is less.
  • Legal liability cover when using a substitute vehicle
  • Cover for personal items in your vehicle
    Allianz will pay up to $1,000 for any one incident.
  • Emergency accommodation costs
    Cover for reasonable emergency accommodation costs and travel expenses after a covered accident, provided that your vehicle was more than 100 km from where it’s usually parked at night – up to $1,000 for any one incident.
  • Transportation costs
    If your vehicle can’t be driven safely home after a covered accident, Allianz will pay up to $500 for any one incident for travel necessary to get you home.
  • Lock re-keying or re-coding if your vehicle’s keys are stolen
    Allianz will pay up to $1,000 for any one incident.
  • Replacing a child seat after a covered accident
    Cover for the replacement of a child seat or baby capsule in your vehicle at the time of a covered accident – up to $500 for any one incident.

1Minimum Premiums – Where discounts are applied, your premium is subject to rounding. If more than one discount applies, they’re applied in a predetermined order, so the later discounts apply to the amount already reduced by the earlier discounts instead of the total amount. Discounts do not apply to government taxes and charges. Most discounts won’t apply below the minimum amount payable for the policy.

2Online Discount – The online discount applies when you quote and buy a new Comprehensive Motor Insurance policy online only. Any online discounts offered are applied to Allianz’s standard rates, excluding optional covers, and are for the first year’s premium only, unless otherwise stated. Promotional or other discounts may apply from time to time for customers who apply for insurance using other methods.

3Instalment Premiums – If you choose to pay your premium by instalments, you do not pay us any more than if you pay your premium in one lump sum annually. The premiums payable by instalments may be subject to minor adjustments (upwards or downwards) due to rounding. Note: Your financial institution may apply transaction fees to instalment payments.

4Rental Car – Allianz will extend your rental car or daily travel allowance period to the extent that Allianz caused or contributed to the delay in repairing your vehicle.

5Safe Driver Discount – Safe Driver Discount applies to Comprehensive Motor Insurance policies only. Any discount entitlement is determined by the insurance history and driving history of all drivers on the policy and the number of claims made by them. If eligible, the maximum Safe Driver Discount that may be applied on new policies is up to 10%. For more information see our PED guide.

6Choice of Repairer – Allianz may authorise repairs at your repairer of choice; pay you the reasonable costs of repairing your vehicle; or move your vehicle to another repairer we both agree upon. We will act reasonable in doing so.
